Almedina teashop offers a relaxed dining experience rooted in authentic Moroccan flavors, nestled in the heart of Almería’s old town close to the Alcazaba. This is a casual Moroccan restaurant where the atmosphere invites you to slow down and enjoy a meal that feels both comforting and fresh, set against a backdrop of intimate, warmly decorated interiors and a charming outdoor terrace dotted with plants and flowers.

The menu clearly highlights traditional dishes such as cuscús de pollo, tajin de cordero, and a variety of aromatic teas like Moroccan mint tea and té moruno. These options make Almedina particularly welcoming to those who appreciate richly spiced, home-style Moroccan cooking, from meat eaters to vegetarians alike. Several vegetarian plates like hummus, tabbouleh, and varied salads are available, which adds to the approachable appeal for diverse groups.

Visitors often favor coming here during lunch or early evening hours to soak in the laid-back vibe, especially on sunny days when the terrace is lively yet peaceful. The outdoor seating area, surrounded by greenery, creates a small oasis in the urban setting—perfect for lingering over mint lemonade or a traditional tea while catching up with friends or unwinding after a day exploring the city.

Service tends to be attentive and warm, reinforcing the family-style approach to hospitality. Guests frequently comment on the care put into each dish and drink, from the fragrant teas to the delicate Arab pastries served as desserts, which linger as a memorable part of the meal. Practical tip: it’s best to bring cash, as the place does not accept credit cards.

For anyone curious about Moroccan flavors without leaving Almería, or for locals in search of a cozy spot that mixes traditional cuisine with a genuine neighborhood feel, Almedina teashop hits the right note. It’s a spot that invites returning visits—whether for a light tea break complemented by sweet treats or a full, richly spiced dinner experience.

Fantastic Moroccan Restaurant on the route down from the Alcazaba. The Moroccan tea is delicious, so refreshing. The tabbouleh and falafel was one of the best we had ever had, so good we had to go back!

Really delicious food! Especially the pan artesanal was yummy. The outdoor area with its plants and flowers is very inviting and precious. The waitress was super friendly and attentive! Only thing I recommend, bring enough cash, because you can’t pay with credit card. They also have a lot of vegetarian options ! Really recommended

Almedina is an absolute gem in Almería! The food is simply outstanding—every dish tastes incredibly fresh and full of authentic Moroccan flavor. You can really tell they put care into every ingredient. The teas and juices are just as impressive, perfectly prepared and so refreshing. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a proper meal. If you’re looking for genuine Moroccan cuisine done right, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!!!

Nice and friendly family atmosphere, excellent service, I enjoyed the Vegetarian and the Chicken Couscous and the Mint tea was gorgeous as well! Special Mention re: the dessert pastries. Best of all is the location: it was magical to eat on the intimate alley terrace as well as in the very atmospherical decor inside... Night after night, Al Medina became my go-to, feel-good canteen and home away from home ! Thank you all for welcoming me.

We discovered this restaurant during our visit in Almería, and we went there twice during our trip because it was juste perfect! We tried the chicken couscous and lamb tagine as well as the chicken pastilla which were delicious, accompanied with lemon and mint juice. We finished with Moroccan tea and deserts which was perfect to end the meal. The service is really warm, and the ambiance is like a family restaurant in a perfect Moroccan decor.

Second time visiting (June 2022 before). Food was outstanding! Nice atmosphere, but would have been better with ambient music. Service good. Prices reasonable. No alcohol.

Absolutely delicious. Got myself nice and burnt at the beach like an amateur and felt really run down. Happened upon this gem and just felt the food and tea healing me <3. The soup - bessara. Nom Salad was lightly and perfectly dressed. Koftas were tasty. Whole meal was lovely and it's such a chill place, up a charming little street away from the busy atmosphere. No card machine though - bring cash. No alcohol either fyi.

Wow! Amazing food and you forget you are not in Morocco. Vegetarian choices are many and delicious! Moroccan salad of oven baked vegetables is exquisite and spices are unique and takes you to another place across the Mediterranean sea! Vegetable couscous is not just healthy but devine! Cooked just perfectly melts in your mouth! Lemonade is not overly sweet and refreshing. Perfect place to great food or just simply Arab pastries and teas!
